Aluminium entrance gates – key information
The frame of the gate is made from stainless steel, while the infill is powder-coated aluminium. Dimensions follow the individual design — we do not impose standard solutions. We run the production process from scratch, which means we can also handle unusual orders. The final dimensions of the gate (height, width) and the spacing of the infill in each model follow from the masonry base already built, or from the setting of the concreted-in fencing posts. The Fello range includes several models of sliding and swing gates, and each of them can be fitted at the customer’s request with the accessories needed to install a drive unit. For swing gates we offer hinge covers (fitted to the posts on the outer side of the fence) in the colour of the frame, as a feature that improves the look of the finish and enriches the appearance of the gate. As for sliding gates, the most important part is the load-bearing rail — the functionality of the whole gate depends largely on it, so to meet our clients’ high expectations we chose running rails made from aluminium. This solution gives high durability and smooth operation of the sliding system. We make gates styled to match the wickets and fencing spans, so that together they form a perfect whole. The gate can be made to the following patterns:
- basic – a solid construction, fully visible from the front;
- modern – a U-shaped construction, with the top rail hidden on the inner side of the gate and not visible from the front.
Painted in RAL palette colours and with a wood imitation effect.
Fello fences – powder coating:
- RAL palette – a single colour throughout; colours mixed freely;
- wood imitation – infill only – the frame is always a RAL colour;
- wood imitation accent – one or two pales in the imitation finish, the rest in a RAL colour.
Types of entrance gates
Various types of entrance gate are available on the market, which makes choosing the best solution far from easy. Before you settle on a particular type, you need to take a good many factors into account. Remember that the type of entrance gate you choose has to suit the style of the building and the remaining parts of the fence. Under the regulations, an opened gate should not obstruct manoeuvring on the driveway, and should not open outwards from the property. The most popular types are modern sliding entrance gates and swing entrance gates, either single or double leaf. You will find both of these solutions at Fello. Sliding gates
Because they take up so little room, sliding gates are one of the most popular solutions. In this case the gate opens — or rather slides — along the inside of the fence. To balance the weight, the sliding gate mechanism needs a counterweight, which adds 25–35% to the length of the leaf depending on the design of the gate. It is worth taking this into account at the design stage if you are considering sliding gates.
Advantages of sliding gates:

– fitted with an actuator (automation) you can drive onto the property without getting out of the vehicle,
– sliding entrance gates look good and are convenient to use.

Single- or double-leaf gates
Swing gates are a good choice if you are looking for an entrance gate that works well on sloping ground, that is, where the ground rises behind the gate. Depending on your needs and the dimensions of the driveway, you can choose single or double leaf gates. Where space is limited, consider combining the gate with a wicket in the middle, where the smaller section acts as the wicket; doing away with the centre post widens the entrance considerably when both sides are open. Single-leaf gate
Entrance gates of this type are popular on properties with a longer driveway and more room for the leaf to swing clear. Double-leaf gate
Where the width of the entrance does not allow a single-leaf gate to be fitted, double-leaf entrance gates are the usual choice. Gates of this type are most often used at houses with a short driveway. Choosing a double-leaf gate means choosing a classic — a solution that has been used on properties for many years. A double-leaf gate can be both a practical and a good-looking addition to any fence.

Entrance gate with a wicket in the leaf
On some properties a separate entrance wicket is left out, mainly because there is no extra room for it. Even so, it remains a very frequently chosen solution that makes getting onto the property convenient. Technical wickets are also used, such as the special wickets fitted next to a refuse storage area. One of the more popular types of gate is the entrance gate with a built-in wicket.
